What is Hard Reset ?

A hard reset is a process that erases everything on your device, suchas apps, photos,  and personal settings, and restores it to the way it was when it first came from the factory. It's like starting over with a brand-new device. Pepole often do a hard reset when their phone or tablet is having serious issues, like freezing or crashing, and other fixes don't work. it can also be used to clear all personal data before giving the device someone else or selling it. After a hard reset, the device will have only the original software and setting.


To Save your Data before Doing a Hard Reset like, follow these steps:

Backup to the Cloud: Use cloud service like Google Drive, or OneDrive to back up important files, contacts, photos, and apps.

  • Go to Settings>System>Backup, and enable Google backup. 
  • Transfer to a Computer: Connect your device to a computer and manually transfer files, such as photos, documents and videos, to ensure they are safely stored.
  • Use a Backup App: Apps like Samsung Smart Switch, Google one, or iTunes (for iPhones) can back up everything, including text messages, app data, and settings


Here Are simple ways to reset a Redmi phone:

Method 1

  • Factory Reset Through Settings.
  • Go to your phone's settings Find Backup & Reset or Additional settings. Choose to erase all data and reset your phone. 

Method 2

Hard Reset via ShortCut Key

  • Turn off your phone.

  • Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons together until the Mi logo appears. 

  • Use the volume Down buttons to select Wipe Data and confirm by pressing the Power button.



Method 3

Using Fastboot and ADB.

  • Connect your phone to a computer with ADB and Fastboot installed.
  •  Put your phone in Fastboot Mode by pressing and holding the volume Down and Power buttons.
  •  Use commands in the computer's terminal to reset your phone.

Method 4

Using Google's Find My Device.

  • Go to the Find My Device website and log in with your Google account.
  •  Choose your phone from the list of devices.
  •  Select Erase Device to reset your phone remotely.
